Hi hi everyone! Ok ok I know I have really been bad about this blog thing! But I definitely plan to get better! So anyway...Wow alot has happened over the last month and a half! Colt has grown a whole lot (as you can see in the pics)! He is over average for head size, weight, AND height still! He is a smiling machine! He loves to flirt with all of his girlfriends he gets to see every day around the Family Center. He is a really happy baby and I am a very proud Mommy! A HUGE milestone also happened on Friday! HE ROLLED OVER! Oh yes and he did it probably 10 times that day because I was so excited!! He is also starting to know what toys are so I got him a couple things that he likes to chew on. Oh yes because now EVERYTHING goes into his mouth. He prefers my leg or hand, but I really don't like to do it because his knawing actually hurts quite a bit, which leads me to my next update. He is TEETHING! I can't believe he is only 3.5 months and is already teething! Anyway, so his sleep schedule has gotten really off because of the teeth, although I found the best thing EVER. My mom asked around and found out that Walgreens carries miracle teething tablets that dissolve instantly in their mouth and it works like MAGIC. I tried the orajel and the teething ring, but these tablets work unbelievable so I HIGHLY recommend them to anyone who has a teething little one! Let's see...Colt has also been able to hold on to toys and also hit them to make them move while lying on his play mat. He squeals and coos all the time making lots of mmms and bbbbs and likes to scream at Mommy plenty ;)

As for Josh and I...We just took our Comprehensive Exam for our program on Friday and both did well! We are still planning on graduating in December and it looks like we will be able to as long as we keep getting adequate client hours. We are both around the 370 mark with 500 being the total we need at the end. We are both done with classes so just working on thesis, clinical paper, and hours to be done! Then we will be gracing Texas with our presence once again ;) Josh is currently looking into grad schools to continue on to get his PhD. I am frankly burnt out on school and am actually really looking forward to being a full-time therapist!

That is all for now I believe! Hopefully I will update more often now that I have gotten a good routine down! Happy Sunday! God bless...

Wow! I have not posted in 2 months! We have been so busy and I have so much to report! These are the latest pics of our little man....even though most of them are him only in his diaper! Ha! I swear he has LOTS of cute clothes...we just tend to take most of the pics while we are just chillin at home...and he is like a little sauna so he sweats when we keep him in his at home we let him hang out in just a diaper!

So today Colt is officially 2 months old! Wow, I cannot believe this much time has already passed...and Colt is so BIG! We have his 2 month appointment tomorrow so we will find out exactly how much he's grown, but I know it's got to be ALOT! He has outgrown all of his 0-3 month clothes and is now in 3-6....I'm worried he will outgrow these FOR SURE before 6 months.

So as you can see in the pics, Colt has already had his first was right before he hit the 6 week mark and it definitely melted my heart! He first smiled for me while I was in Athens one morning for his early feeding, and then smiled for his Daddy just a couple days later! Now he has started to share that beautiful smile with anyone who is around to see it :) Now we are just waiting for a laugh, but I know it's coming soon because he has already been close. He tends to think his parents are pretty funny...

As for me, I am definitely fully recovered! I have been back doing therapy for a month and a half now, although it's been pretty slow now that it's summer time. Colt has also gotten to sit behind the mirror a couple of times and see his mommy do therapy. I'm still EPing (exclusively pumping) for my little man. Unfortunately the breastfeeding thing didn't work out as nicely as I would've liked, but due to having to be back doing therapy 2 weeks after having him, it was really hard to get a good latch established ENTER breastpump. Now, I just pump every 3 hours and bottle-feed him the breast milk. This has been really good for us and I feel truly blessed that Colt still gets all the benefits of breastmilk even though I'm not breastfeeding. I'm not gonna lie though, it definitely is a HUGE hassle and takes ALOT of time. But it's worth it to know that my baby is getting the best nutrition possible. We also have a HUGE stock in the deep freezer. Right now we have enough to last a full month after I finish pumping which is really exciting. However, I'm not going to stop until 6 months. Just 4 more months to go ;)

Well, I guess that's all for now...I could go on and on but I think I've provided enough info. I love being a Mom and I can't wait to see what is in store for us in the coming months! Stay tuned...

Hello! So as promised I am providing pictures of our sweet little angel. This was taken in his little lamb chair, which he enjoys quite a bit. It vibrates! Man, and he is out when the vibrations are going. We could not be happier as parents! It has definitely been a stressful week, but we are so happy. It just takes time to get on a routine! Today has definitely been better and both Josh and I feel that we are starting to get a hang of things. Although, I don't think we are ever going to get completely used to the lack of sleep. Colt definitely has his days and nights mixed up! He sleeps great during the day, but is up every hour or so throughout the night! Thankfully, we have had plenty of help from 3 grandmas (Omie-Josh's mom, Nana-my mom, and Mimi (my grandma). This next pic is from his first bath time! He looks so cute in this pic, although about 5 minutes before he was screaming his head off! He hates bath time!! He definitely did his best to pee on me too, but he missed ;) However, Josh has not been so lucky! He has been shot a couple of times! I guess he will get faster at changing that diaper ;)

Doesn't he look really sweet in this pic?! Ha! He was getting ready to go to his first doctor's appointment, which as you can see he wasn't too happy about! Everything checked out healthy at the doctor!

Well, that's about all for now! Breastfeeding is going's definitely a lot of time and effort, but it's well worth it. I hope everyone has a wonderful Sunday! Until next time....God bless!!

So here is a pic from tonight after dinner....and the last one I'll post. Very swollen, very big, about to pop!!
Momma is here! Yep, my mom came yesterday along with Mimi in order to be here when baby Colt is born! I am so happy they are here because I get to have fun my last couple of days being pregnant! Wednesday is the big day...I go in to be induced at says I should be having a baby by 10 that night...I really hope it is sometime before that though!

As far as progression goes, I am still only 1 cm dilated as of Wednesday; however the doctor stripped my membranes (basically separated the uterus from the cervix), which is supposed to get things going. Well, it definitely worked because I have had a lot of interesting things happening that I'm not gonna go into detail about. All I can say is that it can come at any time, but I think I will still go till Wednesday...we shall see!

Please keep us in your prayers as we approach the big day...the next post will be full of pics of our new son!! :)

Enjoying my sleep now...

You may be wondering why I have this picture this isn't what I currently look like obviously. However, this is the picture that will hang on my fridge after 2 weeks is done. I can't even believe that it was possible for me to look like this just a year ago compared to what I look like now :)

Anyway, before the exercise and diet regimen come into play, I've got 2 more weeks till this bundle of joy presents himself to the world!! I had my 37 week doctor's appointment on Wednesday, but no news to report in terms of further dilation. I'm still hangin in there at 1 cm. That's okay though because I still have some things I would like to get done before Colt gets here (project nesting is still underway). Not to mention, my Mom is still needing to get some things done at work before she leaves for 2 weeks, and I really need to have the support!! However, we did officially set the date of induction for May 19th! I'm excited!!!

As far as pregnancy goes, I am definitely not one of those women that really enjoyed the process of being pregnant. The body goes through many changes and I definitely was not prepared for what it took to grow another human! Not to be negative about the whole experience, because of course there was the wonderful moments when you get to feel your baby kicking and moving around! I guess what I'm trying to say is that I won't be rushing into #2 ;)

Have a wonderful Thursday! I will be having a great weekend full of barbeques with great friends! Even though Manhattan is not my ideal place to live, I have definitely enjoyed the people that I have grown very close to while being here! God bless!

3 weeks and counting....

This is my little cutie! Pixie loves the belly and decided she would climb up on top and just take a rest the other night. It completely surprised me! I don't think Colt appreciated too much either because he threw in a few jabs at her while she sat there. I think she knows something is up....I hate to break it to her but her being momma's little angel may be coming to an abrupt end very soon!

Doctor's appointment today! We had our 36 week appointment, and it went really well. I am 1 cm dilated (doctor said about a fingertip) and my cervix is "soft" (sorry if that is too graphic, but I'm just quoting the doctor). So, everything seems to be going well. Of course they don't know what this means in terms of if he could come earlier than expected or anything. However, I'm thinking that he will stay in there for a couple more weeks.

Goals for this weekend: PACK my hospital bag. I haven't done it and everyone keeps telling me I need to. I know, I know...I just get nervous when I think about it. I am also in ultra "nest" mode. Oh yes, that house will be cleaned this weekend my friends, and yes Mr. Cook that means you will be helping!! I also just want to organize! We have two years worth of school papers lying in different places needing to have some place to go, and we have to keep it because it could come in handy one day when I forget one of those hundreds of ethical boundaries that I have to make sure and remember! :)

That's it for now! Have a wonderful day :) God bless...

Looking back...

So this picture is from December 2007, which is when Josh and I had the first new addition to our little family. Jaycie bub!! Look at how cute he was as a puppy! As we are in the final weeks of our pregnancy, I can't help but remember how it started with just us three. Now we of course have Miss Pix and will be adding Baby Colt very soon.  One big happy family!! Can't wait to get a whole family pic next Christmas :)

UPDATE!! Mimi had her doctor's appointment today and we are here to report good news! The eye doctor checked the right eye this time...actually it was the left, but the right as in correct.  The doctor confirmed that there was nothing he found abnormal in the eye. He explained that sometimes the camera can bring back results that look as if it it may be a mass, but that he was sure that there was no mass actually there. PHEW! Mimi will get a third opinion at some point to be sure, but this is definitely a big sigh of relief for our family! I thank you for keeping us in your prayers!

Fun event: We installed the car seat this past weekend! It's kind of weird driving around with a car seat now, but it definitely makes it feel close! Speaking of close, I have about 4 weeks left thank goodness. I think it's safe to say that pregnancy is exhausting at this point, and I'm ready to be done. Not to mention the wide span of emotions that I have experienced just in the past couple of days. Thank goodness I have a very understanding husband that likes to massage my back....did I say like? I meant that he does it, although through substantial bribes....Anyway, until next time...Goodnight and God Bless!

Marvelous Mimi...

So this post is dedicated to my loving grandmother that has played such a huge part in my life.  Mimi has been there for me through many tough times in my life, and the bond between her, my Mom, and I could not be stronger...Josh jokes that we are "too close", but it's something that he has grown to appreciate.  Recently Mimi received news from her eye doctor that there was a mass found on the back of her eyeball, which could be cancerous.  Defined as "ocular melanoma", this condition could actually be quite devastating in that it tends to spread to the liver and lungs.  Although it can be treated, if it does spread, the results tend to be fatal.  At this point, we are needing all of the prayers we can possibly get in hopes for a good result from her doctor this coming Tuesday.  I know that God has been with our family so far because it was his doing that she even went to the eye doctor in the first place.  Mimi has had 20-20 vision and has not needed to regularly see an eye doctor. However, Ty had been referred to an eye doctor, which essentially led my mom and eventually Mimi to go over and also see this doctor.  It was through this process, that the mass was caught.  Often times, this type of cancer goes unnoticed because there are no symptoms.  So again, I believe that it was an act of God that she went to the doctor to begin with and my hope is that he will bring good results to this process. However, it is in God's hands.  Unfortunately the doctor that she is seeing is a little neglectful.  For instance, she went to a specialist last week and the doctor confirmed that it was not cancerous and he didn't see anything to be concerned about. So of course, my whole family breathed a big sigh of belief.  Well, not too fast....once the results were sent back to the original doctor, it was found that the so called "specialist" looked at the wrong eye. Wow.  Anyway, she is going back to get the right eye checked, but will also get another opinion just to be on the safe side as well.  I know a lot of my friends know Mimi and I ask you to pray for her during this stressful time. If you don't know Mimi, pray out of the goodness of your heart.

On a lighter note, I had my 34 week appointment today, which went really well.  My doctor gave me a "gold star" because my weight gain is perfect, my blood pressure is great, and no protein in my pee sample :) andddddd...the fun begins at my appointment in 1 1/2 weeks because I will begin to be "checked" to dilation.  Woo hoo! So, 5 weeks to go!

This is a picture from the baby shower last Saturday.  3 of us girls are pregnant and due right around the same time.  Carla (right) and I are both in the same cohort at K-State and Jenna is the wife of the other male in our cohort (Cole).  Anyway, I'm due first, then Jenna, then Carla. Woo hoo!

Oh the belly....

Okay, so I know I just blogged on Sunday and I'm blogging today but I had some people ask about the belly so I thought I would post a video that Josh made tonight of my belly :) I'm actually pretty modest about showing the belly off, but tonight came to the epiphany that I will embrace my weight gain because I know it's for the best thing in the son! Anyway, don't judge the belly or the stretch mark :) Enjoy!

6 weeks and counting...

I have really enjoyed reading some of my friends' blogs and have found it fascinating to see what all they are going through with having babies and just life in general! Therefore, we have decided to start a blog. I say we as very weak because Josh will probably post a total of 1 time, but I hope he will do more.  I bribed him with..."Cole does it with Jenna" :)

Anyway, I thought I would just update what is going on for us right now.  We are finishing up our last semester of classes for our master's degree!! It has been a difficult process, but definitely worth it. I really love doing therapy.  Josh even has his hero...John Gottman, who leads him every step of the way :)  250 more hours and we will be experts! Haha I am very much kidding, but we have definitely learned alot!

Soooo the baby! Wow, only 6 more weeks to go!  At our last appointment on Friday, she checked everything and said everything seems to be right on target!  She said that she would guess he is about 3 pounds...although the books all say 4, but I think I trust the doctor a little more :)  Anyway, she said we would have the option at 37 weeks to schedule to be induced somewhere between the 39th and 40th week, which is really good news!  At this point, she said that the baby will just be gaining weight and everything will be fully developed so it would be completely safe to have him come a couple of days early if I'm completely miserable! Anyway, so she said pick a date and we can get started!  We haven't picked a date yet, but we are thinking sometime on the week of the 18th of May.  Wow, can't believe that this is coming so soon!  Anyway, till next time! Happy Easter!
